EPL Cup semi loss hurt us

EPL Cup semi loss hurt us by Adam Walker

Hello there!

Well where do I start! Thursday we had the 1st leg of our EPL Cup semi-final against MK and to say it went badly is a severe understatement. We actually started the first 10 minutes not too badly and were in control but after a couple of quick goals the wheels slowly started to fall off and it couldn’t have gone worse. The 2nd leg which is next Wednesday will be a tough one but I think as a team you have to still have a little hope and belief that you can do. It’s going to be near impossible but if you didn’t have that belief then you'll never win or achieve anything in life. Last weekend saw us finally beat Slough for the first time this season which was really pleasing and it was even better doing it at the Hanger. The guys played really well and I think we deserved to win but it was just a shame we couldn’t back it up on the Sunday at home to Guildford. We have Basingstoke this Sunday at home and they have been on a good run of late so we'll have to be much more committed and on our game than last night otherwise it wont be easy to win.

Away from the rink Andre Mattsson, Jakko, Paysey and Ed are all routing for there countries in the winter Olympics and there have been some amusing debates over which country will come out on top. I have a bet with Ed that GB are going to beat Canada at the curling so I’m hoping that pays off. In the Nottingham house Laco has developed a fascination for turkey dinosaurs it seems as that’s all he puts on his Facebook status. His student side is showing bright right now! The boys all sat down together to watch Mighty Ducks on Friday afternoon which made me laugh but they love doing stuff like that so I’m used to it by now.

Have a great week!
