Form, GB & Xmas Parties
by Adam Walker Hi everyone!
Well we're almost at the half way point in the season and i have to say its been pretty tough so far up here in manchester. We have been playing really well of recent and up until last night (Peterborough) we were on a great run of 11 straight wins. I think being top of the EPL isnt easy as you really cant take a night off as we found out last night and in Romford a couple of weeks back. We are lucky enough still to be in a good position but the next 4 games will be crucial as we are missing a few players through the GB under 20's being in Hungary. We play Guildford on Saturday which will be a tough game as they have a lot of quality players from front to back and with there new forward having his first game against us he will be keen to impress Paul Dixon. We are however well aware of the threat they pose and being at home we intend to take the 2 points.
As i said before we are losing 4 players this weekend and next. Joe, Robert, James and Iain are all away representing G.B under 20's in Hungary at the World Championships so everyone in Manchester wishes them well there. I know from my point of view going away on these trips was a lot of fun and i still hold my 3 gold medals i was lucky enough to win as my greatest achievements in hockey to date. These trips you remember for your lifetime and when you look back on your career you'll always have some good memories there. Good luck to all the guys next week!!!
Away from the rink we had the fans christmas party which was fun and everyone had a good time - some more than others eh paysey????
Ben Wood also picked up his first win in the tennis and i have to say he deserved it. im gonna have to bring him back down again though next week.
Have a great weekend!
