It's nearly over in the EPL
by Adam Walker Hi everyone,
Well we are not far away from the end now are we? Our regular season finished last weekend and we cemented our third place spot. I think third is a good achievement for the club. We have fought hard all season and i think like every team (apart from MK) we had our slumps. We have found a bit of form heading into the playoffs this weekend which is always a good sign so we are hoping to take that momentum into the Peterborough games. I think the final four for next weekend is too close to call and there are no weak teams from the 8. We found that out against Swindon on Saturday when we lost 10-2. Yes we were poor and yes mistakes were made but to be fair Swindon played a great game and thoroughly deserve the win. They are no easy rides to Coventry and that’s what mentality we need to take this weekend.
On the other side of things i was lucky enough to reach the 50 goal mark against Bracknell on Sunday. I’m very proud of this achievement and it is something that i will remember for a long time. Thanks to all my team mates who made it happen!
Away from the rink there has been a few things going on. We had our awards night which went well. Jaakko, Woody, Boother and myself picked up awards so congratulations go out to them. I managed to beat both Tony and Gino at tennis which was really pleasing as Tony hates to lose. I also made things worse by beating him at golf the day after too so he hasn’t been happy about that! I’ve started collecting and advertising for donations for my bike ride too. I'll be going from London-Paris in July in aid of Macmillan Cancer research and I’m hoping to raise £1400 so every little helps. If you want to donate you can go to www.justgiving.com/walks29 or contact me for further details. I think everyone has been affected by cancer in one way or another and the charity is something that’s very close to my heart so if you can spare any kind of donation it would be very much appreciated.
Have a great weekend!
