I encountered my first difficult decision of the NHL season on Monday evening, and it resulted in a choice I'm not proud of. Torn between watched Washington on CSN or Sidney Crosby's long, long, long awaited return on Versus.
I signed up for fantasy hockey on Wednesday night. That was a mistake. Call it my continued indoctrination into North American culture if you will. Or my way of fitting in better, maybe. All I know is, the next six months are a complete write off.
The 4,000 empty seats were a big giveaway, if one were needed. It may not sound like many in an arena that holds nearly 19,000, but in this town it's a very noticeable amount. Only five months earlier Verizon Center was full-to-bursting.
