Another season over
Well that’s it another season over and another season with some silverware it may only be the Challenge Cup but it’s some silverware none the less. The lads did the hard work in home leg but still needed that Jade Galbraith touch of magic in Belfast to make sure we won the cup. So well done lads and Corey.
Well it was a really nice feeling for them last two games not to be worried about the score let’s look at the Belfast game on Saturday where we lost and on the walk out I heard fans say how upset they were about us losing but what did people think I mean we had three top imports out and two top Brits out and with Belfast still having an outside chance of winning the league there was only one outcome. But I think that people should think about two things before they say that game was rubbish. One was that Corey got to ease Daniel Tkacuk back into the action and second of all because a young man called Will Wheldon scored his first goal in a Panthers shirt and that will be the one day this young man will always remember it must have been a great feeling to score past one of leagues best netminders so put yourself in his shoes I’m sure will would of liked to be on the winning team however it’s a day this young man will never forget.
Then we get to Sunday our last away trip of the season my away road trips this season have been brilliant which I will write about in an off season blog but a small taster I have nearly died twice, been attacked by an owl and been told it’s sunny in Hull when in fact we hit a massive snow storm but I would like to thank my wife Kerry, Iain and Emma Dilley and Laura Pacey because without these people my road trips would have been boring and I wouldn’t of been able to get there so thank you all. With that being said let’s get back to hell, I mean Hull. So as face off time gets nearer I see that Hull have a crowd which makes me wonder where they are coming from as they haven’t had crowd there for years so I think they’re giving away free Stingrays tickets with every ticket to The Deep. So we play in Dan Green in nets and we end up losing 6-1 and people are quick to call Dan but what do people expect another K-Wall? It’s not going to happen he’s a back up and if I’m honest I don’t think he had a bad game but in the end Stingrays won but to the Stingray fans anyone would have thought they had beaten the Pittsburgh Penguins in game 7 of the Stanley cup. I mean you beat a team with five players out and a back up in goal I just hope they all took pictures of the score board and made it a Facebook profile picture. I even saw after the stingrays 6th goal someone put his hands together like he was praying I mean come on if god plays hockey he ain’t going to play for Hull is he? I know I wouldn’t. But well done on winning the Stanley Cup, enjoy it Hull.
Now then Dave Simms where do I start with you? Sheffield became league champs again but no one is talking about that everyone is talking about Dave's outburst so well done Dave you have single handily stole the limelight away from your beloved Steelers and put it on yourself once again. I’m not angry about it I find it funny and I think other Panthers fans should as well what I would like is if every Panthers fan recorded themselves on their phone and said I’m a Panthers and I’m a b*****d hear me roar and then up load to Facebook and tag Dave Simms in it I’m sure he would get fed up with it long before we would. I see this morning that the league has stepped in and are looking into it and people are staying he should lose his job at Sky I think that’s a bit OTT after all we have all said things heat of the moment and then felt silly the next day. I think what the league should do is make him wear a panthers shirt all playoffs that will hurt him more than anything else they can do to him.
So Friday we meet the Clan in the playoffs and I feel are long overdue a Panthers beating and much as I like the Clan and they have a great first season this weekend is where there season ends. So let’s go Panthers hit them hard and make them know there in a game it’s time we start showing this league and the other fans what we are about. I will end on this we are the Panthers love us or hate us you can’t stop talking about us so tell your friends, the dog or the postman the Panthers are going to the playoffs and we’re taking no prisoners.
