The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.

I remember looking online religiously over the off season and checking the progression of the new Belfast Giant's side and the signing of Sean McMorrow was exciting to say the least, the antics of Jason Rushton last year made having an entertaining enforcer on the side for this season very appealing. It was clear to see why Sean was a great purchase from the outset, he may not be the most skilled of players but he put on quite a show, putting the fear of God into the part time tough men of the league, dispatching of 'Big Bad Brad' Voth and making sure nobody pushed the Giants around and let the team concentrate on accelerating up the league table, this was reiterated by Steve Thornton on www.belfastgiants.com; ''there was going to be a new Sheriff in town this season and that the Giants would definitely not be getting pushed around by anyone in the Elite League any longer.”
Sean was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres and was known as a tough guy who never said no to a fight, he was a fan favourite wherever he went and personally he was one of the nicest guys I have ever met, it calls to mind Todd Kelman's description of him in response to a fan's estimation of him being a Marmite character, you either love him or you hate him; 'he's like beer 90% of people love him' showing that people from all fan bases of the Elite league were welcomed and entertained by Sean.
He crafted a persona of the new Sheriff in town and he threw himself into working with the community, he took on a lot of extra work, visiting people in hospitals, he visited schools, he worked in cross community projects to try and bring the children of Belfast together and to overcome the religious divide, and according to Todd Kelman at the Q & A session he did work the Giants were not even aware of, even turning up to a kid's birthday party! He seemed to be a larger than life character that could do no wrong, he even set up a roller hockey camp for kids in Belfast to promote healthy living and also teamwork.
Then I turned on my computer and saw a shocking article about our Sheriff, which I won't go into specific details of but it intimated that there was an ongoing investigation into McMorrow on drugs charges. He was upset by these allegations promising to clear his name on his Facebook status. The well wishes and support messages came flooding in from Belfast fans, Belfast management and the fans around the Elite League which would have been very comforting to him, but he went back to the States to prove his innocence and we're all waiting and hoping that he is back soon.
A month or so ago as well the Elite League Official Website (www.eliteleague.co.uk) posted a poll to see who was the most 'Entertaining Player of the Year' and there were eight contenders, needless to say I voted for Sean and it brought up a percentage measurement of votes and Sean had well over 60% of the votes. This morning I went onto this same website and I was shocked to see that that the eight had been short listed to three; Bruce Richardson, that gobby pain from Nottingham Panthers who is only entertaining when he is being punched repeatedly (thanks Tim Cook), Jason Robinson, from the Blaze who has done nothing to personally entertain me, and Mike Sgroi who has been disappointingly un-entertaining. The stupid award isn't whats concerning me, its the fact that Sean has been presumed guilty before being proven innocent, he's still on the Giants payroll, he is still part of the Elite League and hasn't been convicted of anything, don't assume that he is Guilty, if you point the finger of guilt at him you have three fingers pointing right back at you.
