Behind the scenes at Phoenix

 

A behind the scenes look at an ice hockey locker room isn't something you get to see very often.

But for BBC blogger Ollie Williams, it became a reality, as Manchester Phoenix invited him in to their locker room during their recent English Premier League clash with Basingstoke Bison.

Accompanying the blog is an excellent video, which includes some quotes from Britain's "Great One" Tony Hand, and of course a unique insight in to the pre-game and period-break locker room chats that Hand gives to his table-topping team.

There's also a few highlights from the game itself, which Phoenix won 6-4, with rookie netminder Adam Summerfield claiming a win - and man of the match - on his starting debut. With video highlights of UK hockey few and far between anywhere, the video is definitely worth a watch.

Just who was that hot blonde that Courtenay refers to after the Bison game?

And why am I yet to meet her after my 50+ visits to the Altrincham Ice Dome?!
