The wins on the bounce in three days for the ever improving Steelers, with Stingrays unable to take the momentum from last night's win over Coventry with them tonight as they were well beaten by a Steelers side who look to now be dangerous opponents for anyone in the upcoming Play-Off's. 

Very much a team performance by Steelers with six different goal scorers while the ever dangerous Konstantin Kalmikov continued his recent good run for Stingrays with both goals in the losing cause.

A tight opening period was shared after Mike Sgroi (3rd) fired the home side ahead on the powerpay at 6.01 only for Kalmikov (32nd) to level at 9.39 on a shorthanded play.

Stingrays actually then took the lead at 24.20 on a delayed penalty with Kalmikov (33rd) counting again before Steelers turned the game their way with three without reply before the end of the period. Jason Hewitt (10th) was first on the mark at 28.30, a powerplay strike by Scott Basiuk (4th) edged Steelers ahead and then Doug Sheppard (17th) made it 4-2 at 37.03.

Stingrays tried to but failed to mount a third period comeback and the home side added further goals by Jeff Legue (35th) at 55.29 and finally Matt Hubbauer (26th) at 59.00 to round off a very good extended weekend for David Matsos' men.
