Bees scrape past Tigers

Final Score: Bracknell Bees 1-0 Telford Tigers
The Bees edged the Telford Tigers in a goaltending dual at The Hive.
Both netminders were on top form, but Bracknell found the only breakthrough in the second period as Martin Masa found a way past Greg Blais to give the Bees a 1-0 win.
Tom Annetts and Blais faced 32 shots each as both teams created good chances. The Bees and The Tigers have built up a rivalry over the last few years, and the win for the Bees will come as a huge psychological boost.
Early in the second period a good move from Lukas Smital allowed Masa to steer the puck past Blais to give the hosts the lead. Annetts was equal to everything the Tigers threw at the Bees net, while Blais gave his team a fighting chance with a string of good saves.
The impressive goaltending meant that any goal would be important, and Masa's strike proved to be the winner. Telford piled on the pressure in the closing stages, but Annetts held his nerve to deny the visitors a dramatic comeback.
Brad Watchorn was missing for the Bees, but they didn't miss any bite as the entire Bracknell roster took the game to Telford. Blais was impressive throughout, but could do nothing to stop Masa securing two vital points for The Bees.
The Bees are in eighth place in the English Premier League, only one point behind Swindon. Bracknell have already racked up 34 points, double the tally they managed for the whole of last season. The Bees don't play tomorrow, and turn their attention to next weekend's games against Milton Keynes and Guildford.
