The Bracknell Bees are delighted to announce that British forward Adam Bicknell is returning to join the team for the remainder of the 2009/10 English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) season.

In the summer, having spent the 2008/09 season as the Bees’ Head Coach, Adam announced that he wanted a break from hockey and decided to play football for his local Sunday league team, Warfield United. But having regularly trained with the Bees over the last couple of months, Adam has now decided to return to competitive action on the ice, making his first appearance in last night’s 2 – 1 victory against the Romford Raiders.

29-year old Adam originally joined the Bees in 2005, from local rivals the Slough Jets and went on to captain the team through one of it’s most successful periods, lifting the League and Play-Off Champions trophies in 2006/07 and the League Cup in 2007/08.

Last season in 51 games as Bees’ player/coach, Adam scored 10 goals and had 25 assists, whilst steering the team to 5th place in the League, the Cup Semi Finals and Play-Off Quarter Finals.

Bees’ Head Coach Claude Dumas is particularly pleased with the team’s latest signing; “Adam is an excellent forward and we know that he was attracting interest from some of our other EPIHL rivals, who were keen to sign him. He is a natural leader and will bring valuable experience to the team as we prepare to push on positively in the second half of the season. He is well-known and respected by the team and staff and we are lucky that he has been training with us recently, so has easily been able to integrate into the superb spirit in the dressing room”.
