The big Coventry Blaze v Nottingham Panthers quiz held earlier this year was another victory for the Coventry side, but they weren't the only one to benefit from the win.
The event arranged in May saw teams from both set of supporters go head to head in Crosby's Bar in Coventry. The challenge which was the brain child of Dave Coggrave (owner of Blaze sponsor DC Training) was organised with the best intentions as DC Training's MD ensured any revenue from the night of trivia went towards a local charity.
The Children’s Ward at Coventry and Warwickshire's University Hospital was the benefactor with over £400 raised from the evening. Jenny Waring from the hospital suggested that the ward would benefit more from a wide screen television and DVD player than the actual cash.
The Blaze staff were more than happy to organise the presents and joined Dave Coggrave with Blaze mascot Scorch in delivering them to the Children's Ward. The prizes were received with lots of smiling faces as Scorch continued to make a nuisance of himself with the kids!
All at the Coventry Blaze, DC Training and the University Hospital would like to thank the fans who involved themselves in the quiz and raised so much for such a worthy cause.
