During the past few days a rumour has been circulating regarding the involvement of the Vipers management team in the new Braehead Clan team. The speculation suggested that Vipers owners Paul Ferone and Rob Wilson along with General Manager Jaimie Longmuir were investing capital as well as taking up roles with the Elite League’s new Glasgow franchise.
A considerable amount of money and time has been invested into the Vipers over the past five seasons and the ownership continue to be fully committed to Ice Hockey in Newcastle. With exciting medium to long term plans in the pipeline, the management team currently have enough to contend with operating one business never mind a second business.
To put an end to speculation, Paul Ferone and Rob Wilson will continue as owners of the Newcastle Vipers with Jaimie Longmuir continuing in his role of General Manager.
The 2009/10 season has been a difficult season on and off the ice for everyone associated with the Mobilx Vipers, however positive plans are well underway for the 2010/11 season with announcements regarding the home venue and season tickets due very soon. The Vipers have confirmed their participation and are fully committed to the 2010/11 Elite Ice Hockey League season.
