Cat's on the hunt for Bison
This weekend the Swindon Wildcats will welcome local rivals the Basingstoke Bison to home ice as the two line up for a Saturday evening game. The Wildcats are coming off a well earned 4 point weekend and with Bison looking to find some sort of form themselves sitting in 3rd place in the league table. There is certainly no love lost between these two teams, with no secret made of Wildcats Head Coach Ryan Aldridge's feelings towards his former club this fixture will be another not to be missed.
All four Swindon imports have found excellent form as we continue through the month of February and with some consistency beginning to emerge. Look for these players to make an impact come the weekend's game. In particular 'Cats forward Egidijus Bauba will be keen to continue his red hot scoring streak, having notched up 5 goals in two games and looking very good in the process.
Looking at the travelling side and the Bison also aim to bring a great deal of offense, bringing the league's 7th and 8th highest point scorers, both sitting on 62 points apiece. Basingstoke's Ondrej Lauko and Viktor Kubenko will be sure to lead from the front and with 67 goals between them so far this season, the Wildcats will need to be on top form when the two meet this Saturday, although victories in the last 2 times the teams clashed for the Wildcats will not bring fond memories for the visiting team.
Before this game the Wildcats head to another of their local rivals to face the Bracknell Bees on Thursday evening. Swindon will be sure to take a good travelling support to the Hive in what is always a lively encounter
