Cats take point from overtime battle
This evening the Swindon Wildcats took a well earned point on the road as they fell to an eventual 3-2 overtime loss against the Bracknell Bees.
Having fell early to the Bees after a Thompson deflection saw the home side break the scoring, the Wildcats were soon seen raising their game as the second period opened.
Half way through the period and Swindon were eventually rewarded for their efforts as Czech import Michal Pinc was found on the break away to beat Bracknell netminder Annetts.
It took just under five minutes for the dividing goal to then be netted next, again with Swindon taking the upper hand in the middle period. This time fellow import Jaroslav Cesky would see his slapshot pass the netminder, having released a precise shot past a defenseman and with it a screened Annetts once more.
The second period drew to a close with the visiting side now in the lead however with just the one goal differential, the game was still very much alive.
This was soon proven in the 53rd minutes, when the Bracknell Bees took to the offensive and after import Masa gave a pass across the crease, the home side's Galazzi was positioned to place the puck in.
A goal that may well have been the result of multiple chances then took the game to an eventual over time period, with neither side able to finish on any further chances in the final third.
A tense overtime period initially saw the 'Cats take to the offense however with a faceoff taken in the Swindon end, it took a home face off win and a Louskin's slapshot to beat netminder Skinns. With this, the game was bought to a close and a two point win awarded to the Bees. For Swindon, they had to feel a good point was earned and just a point dropped over the weekend's proceedings.
