Chambers bags brace in Blaze draw

Greg Chambers registered two goals and one assist as Coventry Blaze shared a 4-4 draw with Manchester Phoenix in the first leg of the Best of British Cup at the Skydome.
The Great Britain international has struggled for form this term and has only registered three goals and 19 assists in 27 Elite League games.
Coach Paul Thompson this week challenged Chambers to lead the team – hit by injury, suspension and Great Britain Under-20 call-ups - through a testing month.
He certainly made a positive start by beginning and finishing the scoring as well as setting up another goal for Greg Owen while 16-year-old Ross Venus, named man of the match, also got on the scoresheet.
The return leg with the English Premier League side will take place at the Altrincham Ice Dome on Thursday December 16.
Coventry are back in action on Saturday when Hull Stingrays visit the Skydome in the Elite League (7pm face-off).
Captain Jonathan Weaver (knee operation) will be missing while forwards Brad Cruikshank and Aaron Nell are suspended and Thompson starts a two-match ban, their punishment for the ugly scenes during the home clash with Nottingham Panthers last Saturday.
