Chieftains head coach Dean Birrell was left fuming after Sunday's game in Kent in which the Chelmsford side tied 3-3 with the Invicta Dynamos. The Chieftains had control of the game and had over 60 shots on Joe White in the Dynamos net, but only officially scored 3 goals. The Chieftains had the puck in the net twice more than that, only for the officials to rule the net was off it's moorings and therefore the goals wouldn't count. At least 5 times in the game the Dynamos net came off thanks to a combination of White and on-rushing forwards.

An disputed early goal from former Chieftain Mike Timms and a goal early in the second from Andy Smith was all that separated the two sides until late in the second period when Kyle Jones netted with less than a minute to play. Tempers were flaring and BT Williams and Chris Borges squared off, with Borges throwing punches before Williams was able to get his gloves off. Once he did the tide turned and the two threw some good shots, with Williams shading it. Two goals in just over a minute from Blaho Novak and Ross Brears put the Chieftains 3-2 ahead with just under 14mins to play and it looked like the visitors could run away with it, but it wasn’t to be as another former Chieftain Liam Chong netted with 5minutes left. It was an exciting game and the Chieftains showed true grit and determination, but can rightly be disappointed that big decisions didn’t go their way. Birrell said afterwards “I felt we should have won that game as we were all over them. How many times is a goalie meant to get away with knocking the net off? We did keep going and at least we kept a point”

Saturday night saw the Chieftains run riot against the Swindon ENL Wildcats as they ran in 19 goals in a 19-1 thrashing. Hat-tricks from man of the match Blaho Novak, Kyle Jones and Aaron Connolly while Danny Hammond, Tom Long, Matt Turner and Ross Brears all ran in 2 a piece. James Ayling and BT Williams netted the remaining goals.

Back in Essex it was a different story as the Chelmsford Warriors went down 11-5 to the Invicta Mustangs in a bad-tempered affair.
