Clan shock Panthers in Braehead

The Clan powerplay unit was on top form as they netted four for the second consecutive game. In a dress rehearsal for the upcoming Challenge Cup semi-final in the middle of the month. The Scottish team showed that they will be a force to be reckoned with as they beat title challengers Nottingham with plenty to spare.
The Clan got off to the best possible start as Matt Haywood at 3.56 netted on the powerplay to put the home side in front. The home fans were on their feet again as Brock McPherson put his team two in front at 5.39.
Both teams created chances after this but both goaltenders were coming up with the big saves and after twenty minutes of hockey the Clan lead 2-0.
With 91 seconds of the second period played, Brock McPherson of the Clan and Corey Neilson of the Panthers were binned on majors for fighting. As the Panthers player/coach Neilson sat out the penalty he saw his team go further behind as Jimmy Jorgensen on the powerplay scored a third goal for the home at 24.19.
A second powerplay goal of the game from Jorgenson at 31.36 and then a further marker at 34.15 from Jordan Krestanovich saw the Clan go nap. With 54 seconds of the period remaining the Panthers at last found a way to goal as Robert Lachowicz netted.
The visitors pulled back another with a strike from Matthew Myers at 43.39. However, McPherson got his second of the night and the home teams 4th powerplay at 50.12. The final goal of the game came at 52.18 from David Clarke as he scored on a shorthanded play.
