Clan sign final import
Ice hockey Elite League new boys, Braehead Clan have signed their final import for the season - and he’s someone who can both score and make goals.
Canadian Ryan Campbell joins the Clan – who will be playing out of the 4000-seater Braehead Arena – from Central Hockey League side, Wichita Thunder.
Campbell, 31, has impressive stats in his 332 games as a pro ice hockey player in North America and Europe having scored 147 goals and 178 assists.
Clan coach Bruce Richardson said: “Ryan comes with a pretty impressive resume. Wherever he has played he would always be top on of the points table for his team and that's something that I am expecting from him this year.
“Ryan has incredible puck-handling skills and has a great hockey sense. What I also like about Campbell is that he plays with an edge and does not take any nonsense from anybody on the ice.
“Ryan is really pumped about coming to Braehead and showing off his skills. I will be looking for some leadership from him and he is keen to help us win some trophies this year.”
Richardson added: “I am really happy with all of the guys that I have signed this year. I believe that I have a group of imports to match those of the other teams in the league.”
