Cloutier relishing Mitchell return
Player-coach Sylvain Cloutier is excited at the prospect of having Lee Mitchell back in his Excel Hull Stingrays line-up.
The 22-year British forward has yet to feature this term after sustaining a knee injury during pre-season which resulted in surgery. But he will finally return in tomorrow’s Elite League encounter against Edinburgh Capitals at Hull Arena having been given the all-clear.
Cloutier said: “It has been very frustrating with Lee. He is one of our keys guys and our best British forward - we have missed him. He is a good all-round player and I am really glad to finally get him back in the line-up. But we will bring him back slowly.”
He added: “It is a big match for us tomorrow, we really need a win at home. They had a good win over Nottingham last week so we need to be ready and come to play. We will need to take our opportunities, we have been creating some good scoring chances but not capitalising on them so we are due to have one of those games when we just explode. Against Coventry we will need to play the perfect road game. We cannot make any mistakes or turn the puck over and we need to keep the puck in their end, the more we have the puck the better it will be.”
