Cloutier wary of Blaze backlash
Excel Hull Stingrays player-coach Sylvain Cloutier is expecting a backlash from Coventry Blaze when they meet at Hull Arena in the Rapid Solicitors Elite League tomorrow night.
Blaze head to East Yorkshire on the back of successive 6-1 defeats to Nottingham Panthers last weekend and having lost six of their seven matches on their travels.
But Cloutier, whose side were buoyed by a 2-1 victory after penalty shots at home to Cardiff Devils on Sunday, knows Blaze will be determined to return to winning ways.
Cloutier spent two seasons at the Skydome – one of them as captain – and said: “After the weekend they had and having known Thommo [Blaze coach Paul Thompson] for a long time I know he will have them ready.
“He will want them to respond so we will have to be ready for them.
“We have had some physical games with them already this season and this is going to be another battle.
“Hopefully there will be a big crowd and a good atmosphere and we can get another win.”
