Craze leads Caps to Dundee win
Only last Sunday Stars handed out a 6-0 whitewash on the road in Capitals barn but it was quick revenge for the Edinburgh side as goals by Rene Jarolin and Marcis Zembergs were enough to edge it on Tayside.
Capitals now move to within a couple of points of 6th placed Braehead, whom they meet on Saturday night but for Stars it’s a 4th straight home loss and they remain 9th, still 4 points out of a Play-Off spot.
A very even opening period saw Capitals nick it late on when Jarolin scored at 17.10 and when Zembergs doubled the lead only 2.14 into the 2nd period with what was Capitals 1000th regular season goal in the Elite League era it was looking a difficult task for a Stars side who have struggled for most of the season to put the puck in the net.
However, they were given a lifeline with 12 seconds of the middle session remaining when Lee Mitchell found a way past Nathan Craze in the Capitals cage and it was game on!
Heavy home pressure in the 3rd period with Stars outshooting their opponents 17 to 7 but a very disciplined Capitals side inspired by Craze between the pipes held on to take both points in the end.
