Invicta Dynamos

The Chelmsford Chieftains were in cruise control on Sunday night as they hit 5 past a lacklustre Invicta Dynamos side in the South East Cup. Missing Alex Green through injury and player-coach Gary Clarke, who rested himself, the Chieftains hit the Dynamos from the off and raced into a 2 goal lead by the first break. Ross Brears set up the in-form James Ayling for the first of the evening before Tom Long netted thanks to the assists from Jakub Klima and Darren Brown.

The second period was also all Chelmsford with the home side taking full advantage of a Dynamos side not playing to full potential, or anywhere close to. The goals came from Brown, who'd been set up by Long and Klima and the second of the period went to Darren Elliott from Michael Ranby and Alan Green. Alan Green then got another one in the final session to round out a convincing 5-0 win. Man of the match went to netminder Ben Clements who stood firm throughout the game and fended off everything shot at him.

However it wasn't such a great weekend for the second tier side the Warriors as they crashed to a terrible 10-3 home defeat to Basingstoke Buffalo side who they had beaten in Basingstoke earlier in the season by the same scoreline. The goals came from Ben Osborne with 2 and man of the match Tom Foskett.

Onto Sunday and it was a closer affair on the south coast, but the Warriors still went down to a defeat against title favourites Solent & Gosport Devils with a 9-5 defeat. Veteran Richard Whiting netted twice with the other goals coming from Robert Manlove and a goal a piece for the Bartlett twins. Man of the match was netminder Dave Abbott for a strong performance, despite the scoreline.
