Head Coach Gerad Adams has today released defenceman Scott Romfo from the Cardiff Devils.
"I have said for some time I had been prepared to make a change and this is it" said Adams today.
I have responsiblities to the owners and the fans to put the best product on the ice that I can, and I had been examining the team's performance to that end. The opportunity to sign Ryan Finnerty came up and it was too good to miss, however that means that I had to make a decision."
"Scott had been playing better these last few weeks but if we are to challenge for honours this season I need to ensure we are the best we can be. The injury to Wes Jarvis is unfortunate timing for us but we expect him back soon, and I will be remaining on defence."
"We cannot carry 11 imports and I have a financial responsibility to our owners, who have shown great faith in me and the team. It's never nice to make these decisions but to become a better hcokey club sometimes these things have to happen."
"Scott is a good guy and we wish him all the very best for the future."
The Devils next home game is on Saturday 19th December @ 7:00 pm against the Hull Stingrays.
