Dundee confirm first import signing
Dan Ceman, Dundee CCS Stars coach, is delighted to announce the signing of American forward Peter Cartwright.
Speaking from his home in Ontario Dan said, "Peter caught my eye with his excellent stats over the last few years. I know Peter's previous coaches and he comes highly recommended by them. At 25, Peter has good experience and has shown ambition and determination and that's what we're looking for here in Dundee."
Stars' Director of Hockey Michael Ward commented, "We're delighted that Peter will be joining us this season, he looks like a very good signing by Dan. He's obviously a good solid forward from a sound background and I'm looking forward to seeing him play. I'm sure our fans will look forward to seeing him play too."
Peter said, "I'm delighted to be given this opportunity by Dan, from what he's said he looks to be building a solid set up in Dundee. I've checked into the background of the Stars' and their fans and it sounds like a great place to play hockey."
Peter, who's hometown is Anchorage in Alaska, spent the previous season with Dutch team Groningen Grizzlies where he scored 39 goals and 41 assists in 42 games. His previous clubs include CHL outfit Arizona Sundogs, and 4 years with Alaska Anchorage Seniors, where he won the Governor's Cup 4 times.
Dundee CCS Stars' season starts on Saturday 4 September with a trip to Sheffield, followed by their first home game at Dundee Ice Arena on Sunday 5 September, also against the Sheffield Steelers.
