A Scots battle on the East coast and at the end of it Flyers moved off the bottom spot in the standings for the first time since 9th October 2011, sending Stars to that unwanted position in the process.

Another standout display from goaltender Garrett Zemlak with 35 saves coupled with Flyers making the most of their opportunities was key.

The visitors hit a quick double just after the halfway mark of the opening period to take command. Frantisek Bakrlik was first on target at 10.04 and he was followed by Danny Stewart at 11.22 shorthanded . Stars hit back right at the death of the period however with Brennan Turner scoring on the powerplay with 7 seconds remaining, this resulting in a 10 minute misconduct for Zemlak.

Neither team could add to their tally in the second session with Stars having the edge in play but Flyers went 3-1 ahead at 43.36 when Matt Cohen fired home and the game was made safe with a strike by Andy Samuel at 51.53.
