Dundee see of West Coast rivals
Ex Dundee player/coach, Dan Ceman returned with the Flyers and proceeded to net himself a hat trick. However, a brace from current player/coach Brent Hughes in the third period saw Dundee break a recent three game loss to move them two points ahead of their East Coast rivals at the foot of the table.
Fife had the better of the first period as they outshot Dundee 16-6. However, they had to wait until late in the period to get on the scoreboard as ex-Stars player/coach Dan Ceman netted twice at 16.12 and 19.18 to give the visitors a two-goal lead at the end of the first period.
The hosts pulled one back as Gary Wishart at 21.38 scored on the powerplay. Flyers player/coach Todd Datiaume restored the visitors two-goal advantage with a powerplay goal at 23.21. Within 30 seconds, A.J MacLean reduced the leeway once again to a single goal as he netted at 23.51. MacLean then got his second of the game at 31.15 to restore equality.
The third period got under way with the teams tied at three apiece then at 44.38, Brent Hughes put the home team in front for the first time. The player/coach got a second goal at 48.52 to open up a two-goal lead.
At 50.08 Dan Ceman completed his hat-trick to make it a one goal game then Alan Mazur got Stars sixth goal at 54.25 to complete the scoring on the night.
