Dustin destined for Sheffield

Former Edinburgh Capitals defencemen Joe Dustin will be a surprise addition to the Sheffield Steelers roster by the weekend. Steelers head coach Dave Matsos is understood to have moved to sign Dustin after it was confirmed that Rod Sarich is likely to miss three to four weeks with a broken thumb.
Sheffield had been hot on the heels of former NHLer Ben Simon, only to see the Canadian opt for a move back to North America with ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings. Despite the addition of Dustin, BIH understands that Matsos is still in the market for at least one further player with an impact forward the priority.
The alarming dip in form has seen Matsos meet with General Manager Mike O’Connor on a number of occasions to discuss possible targets. The 2008/09 EIHL league and playoff champs currently sit bottom of the table with only two regulation time wins in fourteen games, which is the clubs worst start in their eighteen year history.
