The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to announce that the club have recently agreed terms with Silver Blades Ice Rinks allowing the senior side to defend their ENIHL Southern Championship in Gillingham in the upcoming 2010/11 season. Silver Blades, who also have a presence in Altrincham and Cannock, assumed control of the rink near the close of the 2009/10 campaign and negotiations had been ongoing between the new owners and the club since that time. On Thursday (20th May) a deal was then agreed between the two parties confirming the Dynamos’ participation in the ENIHL South for next season.

The Invicta Dynamos are delighted to be working in partnership with Silver Blades Ice Rinks and hockey in Gillingham now looks set to have a very bright future. The rink’s new management are dedicated to making vast improvements to the current facilities with new changing rooms, new and improved lighting, a new sound system and a big clean up all on the agenda in the very near future on top of the many enhancements already put in place since the takeover. In addition the club and Silver Blades Ice Rinks will be working closely together to promote both the sport of ice hockey and the rink in Gillingham in a solid partnership that should benefit both parties.

Speaking on the agreement Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “We are very excited to be working with Silver Blades Ice Rinks and this partnership with the new owners is better and stronger than anything we have had before. Silver Blades Ice Rinks are committed to making big improvements in Gillingham and we look forward to working with them when the new season begins in September 2010”.

Head Coach Kevin Parrish is now free to begin planning the club’s defence of their ENIHL Southern Championship and has intimated that some squad changes may be on the horizon. Talking on the summer ahead Parrish said, “It is likely that we may lose some of our league winning team but any outgoing players will be replaced by younger, hungrier players and I am confident we will continue to be in the running as the ENIHL looks set to be even more competitive in 2010/11”.
