The Slough Jets are delighted to announce that the English Premier League's coach of the year Peter Russell has agreed to return for the 2010/11 season. The Scotsman who led the Jets to the EPL playoff title following an overtime win against the Guildford Flames, will return to The Hanger for his second season having joined from local rivals, the Bracknell Bees last summer.
Having finished second in the league and following the playoff success Jets General Manager Sylvia Tuleweit was delighted to confirm the return of Russell: "Pete was an integral part of our organisation and success last season so we are delighted to have him back at The Hanger" said Tuleweit. "Last summer Pete was our number one target to be the club's new head coach and take the Slough Jets into an exciting new era. Last season was an exciting one for the fans on and off the ice and with the guidance of Pete we're looking forward to an entertaining 2010/11 season."
A delighted Pete Russell went onto confirm that plans for 2010/11 were well underway: "Obviously I am delighted to be returning to Slough and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, players and fans for all their support last season" confirmed Russell. "We've already started our recruitment process of building a team that will once again be a very competitive unit in the EPL. There is likely to be changes as despite our success last season I believe you can't stand still and you continually have to improve. I am excited at the challenge ahead of looking to retain our playoff crown".
