The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.
David Matsos has confirmed that Robert Farmer will make his European debut later tonight when the Steelers open their continental cup campaign against Dutch side The Hague (face off 4.00pm) in Bolzano.
Farmer has impressed Matsos in several recent call ups to the Steelers side and presently leads the Sheffield Scimitars British contingent in goal scoring.
"The Scimitars have been so helpful with our request for Robert to make the trip" said Matsos "we need the extra bodies for a tourement like this and having Robert with us will be a great help to us and I am sure a big stepping stone and learning experiance for him. We appreciate that his loss from the Scimitars side this weekend will be disappointing for them.
"Robert has trained with us all year and this is a huge opportunity for him in his progression up the ice hockey ranks. I believe that having Robert with us will help both clubs, right now we need his services, he will be a better player for this experiance and that will help the Scimitars and the Steelers for the remainder of the year.
"We thank Coach John Rowbotham together with Ian and Gary at the Scimitars for their actions over the last couple of days, we know and appreciate how important Robert is to their team, especially with their recent good run of results and high league position. Having Robert in their team for the Bracknell game at Ice Sheffield was important to them however they didn't want to stand in Roberts way this weekend and have him miss this incredible opportunity
Farmer said "This is a great chance for me, though it did put me in an awkward position as I didn't want to let my team mates down at the Scimitars this weekend. The chance to play for the Steelers in the European Continental Cup though is a massive opportunity and I thank everyone at the Scims for their co-operation.
Matsos continued "I hope the Steelers fans not travelling to Bolzano will go and support the Scimitars this Sunday at Ice Sheffield in their game against Claude Dumas and his Bracknell Bee's. We will be keeping an eye out for the score coming into us whilst over here in Italy.
