The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.

After a postponed home outing, weather continued to threaten ice hockey matches around the country, but the Flames managed to successfully navigate the road to Telford on Sunday; eventually redeeming a recent overtime defeat against the Tigers by getting the scheduled game in the books with a 5-3 win. The home side picked up an opener from Joe Henry at 7:26, but Ben Campbell replied just beyond the midway mark of the 1st with a leveller ahead of the middle frame. Just seconds into the re-start, with a little help from Martin Masa and Matt Towe, Lukas Smital put the Flames in the lead, but at 25:48 Scott McKenzie took advantage of a 5 on 3 Tigers powerplay to knot the score at 2 each. Another Campbell marker, this time shorthanded, in the 33rd minute re-stored the slim Flames advantage before Masa opened the first multiple goal lead shortly thereafter. Another Tigers powerplay goal by Henry inside the final 2 minutes of the session pulled the gap back to 1. Smital added an insurance goal in the 3rd to complete the result.
Flames Head Coach Paul Dixon discussed the eventful weekend:
“You like your week to be routine because that is part of the preparation for being at your best but obviously sometimes things happen that throw you right off the tracks. We had a great week of practice and I felt we were ready to play a solid weekend, but with the building closure forcing an unwanted day off on Saturday and an early departure for a very slow journey on Sunday you can’t help but be a bit out of sorts while you continually adapt to the new situations. We had some great moments during the win against the Tigers, but also had some lapses where we were well off our usual pace. A win is a win, and we are very pleased to have secured the points of course, but overall we could have certainly delivered a better, more consistent performance. Even though it is Christmas on Saturday, hopefully we can put in a reasonably normal week of preparation before playing a better brand of hockey during a home and away set against Bracknell on Sunday and Monday.”
