Four point weekend wanted by Sibley

With two goals and three assists in last Sunday’s 6-5 win against the Nottingham Panthers, defenceman Kyle Sibley is looking for a four point weekend when the Newcastle Vipers welcome the Edinburgh Capitals on Saturday (7.00pm face-off) before travelling to Scotland to face the Dundee Stars on Sunday.
“After last Sunday’s win we have a pretty good feeling in the locker room right now and all the guys are confident heading into this weekend” said Sibley. “The win against Nottingham was a huge one for this club and definitely helps moral and improves guys attitudes during our practices.
“Tomorrow is definitely a huge game when it comes to playoff implications. Both teams are short on players, so I see it being a very competitive and tight game. We are not taking Edinburgh lightly and will be trying to use the Whitley Bay to our advantage as we have done in the past.
“All the guys continue to stick to the systems Stewie [Danny Stewart – Vipers coach] has us playing. Being so short bodied its important that each guy shows up ready to play as I am sure Edinburgh will be ready to battle hard.
“Two wins this weekend would put us right back in the mix of things for that last playoff spot. The Dundee game is huge being they are the team we are chasing but by no means are we looking past Edinburgh. We need to take care of business Saturday night and that is our main focus first and foremost.”
