Game On for Aer Lingus Belfast Giants!

Aer Lingus and the Belfast Giants today announced a title sponsorship deal as contracts were signed at Belfast International Airport. The Belfast Giants, who draw weekly crowds during the Elite League season of more than 4,000 fans, will be known as the Aer Lingus Belfast Giants. The full package was not disclosed but as part of the deal, Northern Ireland’s most loved airline will provide the Canadian and North American players with their transatlantic flights to Ireland and their Elite League away games from Belfast International to London Heathrow.

Declan Kearney, Aer Lingus Director of Communications said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce the Aer Lingus Belfast Giants title sponsorship deal. We are delighted to provide transport for the players through our extensive US network in conjunction with our partner airlines.

“Last season Aer Lingus were the official airline sponsor to the Giants, holding that designation until this transition to title sponsorship. It seemed like a logical progression and further represents our commitment to the Northern Irish community. We will concentrate on working with the Giants to bring star players to Northern Ireland,” he said.

The partnership presents an opportunity for Aer Lingus to introduce its award-winning Aer Lingus experience and superior customer service to the Belfast Giants fan base and they will see Aer Lingus advertising and promotional messages displayed throughout the Odyssey Arena.

Aer Lingus also plans to push the sponsorship by deploying interactive marketing initiatives with the fans at Belfast Giants fixtures in the upcoming Elite Ice Hockey League season.
