Globke is Steelers final import
The Sheffield Steelers are delighted to announce that they have obtained the services of ex-Florida Panther Rob Globke, for the 2010/2011 season.
Globke, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the 2nd round, 40th overall in the 2002 NHL draft. He went on to play 46 games in The Show and is also an experienced AHL and DEL forward. He joins the Steelers from Krefeld Pinguine of the DEL.
Steelers player coach Ben Simon had the following to say:
"I am pleased to announce the signing of Rob Globke. Rob has an outstanding resume, and has the potential to be one of the best players in this league. He has experience in European Elite Leagues and has played in the AHL and NHL as well. Knowing him personally, I am excited to add such a high calibre player that also brings quality characteristics off the ice as well. Steelers fans will absolutely love this player not only for being a tremendous hockey player, but for his off-ice attributes as well. This addition has made our club even stronger today, and I am excited to get him here in a Steelers uniform."
Rob Globke will take up a place at the University of Sheffield and the Sheffield Steelers wish to thank everyone at the University for their help in making this signing possible.
