Glowa & Wall back for Phantoms
Peterborough Phantoms new coach Chris Allen has wasted no time in securing two key re-signings for the 2011/2012 season.
Popular forward and 2010/2011 Player of the Season, Jeff Glowa, will be back with Phantoms after recording an impressive 36+54 from his 52 appearances but it was his fully committed, all-action performances that will make his return such a boost for Phantoms fans. Coach Allen commented, “G is everything you would want in a hockey player. He has a work ethic that never quits and follows that up with vision, scoring touch and silent speed. He was one the guys I needed to sign to assure us of having a successful season and I know he had a lot of interest from other teams in both leagues so I’m very happy to have him back in a Phantoms jersey with me”.
Another big returnee for the new season will be netminder Stephen Wall who once again turned in an impressive season despite having to backstop a side that, at times, only boasted one experienced D-man. 2011/2012 will be the popular netminder’s eighth season with Phantoms with only Shaun Yardley having pulled on the Phantoms shirt on more occasions. Coach Allen added, “Wall is hands down the best goalie in the league. He’ll come up with the game saving stops in crucial situations and I expect great things from him this season. I’m looking forward to working and playing with both Stephen and Jeff”.
Phantoms expect to announce further signings in the days ahead.
