Gomenyuk eyes Panthers return
Excel Hull Stingrays defenceman Pavel Gomenyuk is hoping to make his return in the Elite League clash with Nottingham Panthers at the National Ice Centre on Sunday. The Ukrainian has been ruled out since October 10 with a fractured rib, with his return delayed somewhat by a nerve problem and bruising around the injury. But he said: “I hope to be back on Sunday. I have been skating but with no contact. I will be doing some contact this week and hopefully it will work out and fingers crossed everything will be OK. I am looking forward to playing again. “I have played so many years in this league and feel comfortable in this league so I hope my experience can help the team. We have a good team here, it’s the first time in Hull we have had so many good players. I don’t know why it isn’t working out for us. But we will stick together as a team and hopefully everything will be OK.”
