Hemmings leaves the Bison
Following a fantastic weekend for all involved with the Basingstoke Bison Ice Hockey Club, we are sad to announce the release of Andrew Hemmings from his contract.
Director of Hockey Steve Moria is philosophical about Andrew’s departure.
“I'm disappointed that Hemmer is leaving the Bison, especially in our situation with numerous injuries and a lack of bodies.” Said Steve following the Bison’s 4-3 road victory in Telford.
“However, he wants to move on and I will not stand in his way.
“I would like to thank Hemmer for his efforts during the past two seasons and we wish him well.”
Andrew joined the club from the Bracknell Bees in the summer of 2009 and established himself as an integral part of the squad. Popular with supporters, he played 88 league games for the Herd, scoring 43 points, including 19 goals.
The 23-year old forward leaves the club with our best wishes and we would like to thank Andrew for all his efforts in helping the Bison establish themselves as force following our move into the English Premier League.
Focus for the team now turns to Saturday’s clash with the Manchester Phoenix and the club are looking for a repeat of the bumper crowd that attended Saturday’s match.
