Jaeger braced for Vipers test

Canadian netminder Brett Jaeger knows Coventry Plumbing and Heating Blaze will be in for a tough battle when they face Newcastle Vipers in Whitley Bay on Saturday night.
Blaze have lost two of their last three meetings with their Elite League rivals, going down 3-1 in the north east on December 5 before a 5-4 reverse at the Skydome earlier this month.
Vipers head into the game buoyed by their 4-3 home victory over Nottingham Panthers in the first leg of their Challenge Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Blaze, meanwhile, registered back-to-back victories over Edinburgh Capitals last weekend having lost eight of their previous nine games.
Jaeger said: “It is going to be a tough game. Newcastle showed the other night just how difficult they are to beat, especially at home, despite having a short bench.
“But last weekend was good for us. It gave us a chance to work on a few things and improve in the areas we needed to. The guys got the chance to move the puck around and build some confidence.
“We have gone through a tough time but the guys have still been coming to work every day and working hard, so that is a good sign.”
