Jaeger nominated for league award

Coventry Plumbing and Heating Blaze goaltender Brett Jaeger admitted “it feels good” after being nominated for the Elite League’s netminder of the year award for the 2010/11 season.
The Canadian, signed from Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League, has had an outstanding debut year in the UK.
Jaeger has posted four shut-outs and has a 91.8 saves percentage, the joint-second highest in the league, and a 2.86 goals against average.
He also played a starring role in Blaze’s Continental Cup campaign when they were pipped by hosts Rouen for a place in the Super Final.
The 28-year-old said: “Any time you get nominated for an award like that it is good. The coaches in the league voted for it so I must have done something right!
“I think I have had a pretty solid year but the guys have played well in front of me so I can’t take all the credit.
“All I want to do is go out in every game and give the guys a chance to win. I am confident in my ability and I think I have proved to be a top-tier goalie in this league.”
