Kalmikov seeks home comforts
Konstantin Kalmikov insists it is vital Excel Hull Stingrays pick up some points from their home double-header against Nottingham Panthers and Coventry Blaze this weekend.
The Ukrainian forward grabbed a brace, including a late game-winning goal, as Stingrays snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over Edinburgh Capitals last Saturday before losing 5-2 at Coventry Blaze.
Kalmikov said: “It was a relief to finally get the win against Edinburgh and it gave us some confidence. We wanted to take that into Coventry and get a result but unfortunately we couldn`t do it. We played pretty well for two periods in Coventry and going into the third 2-1 down we would have taken that. But they scored two quick goals and we couldn`t come back.
"We will have a full line-up this weekend, which will be nice. We always play well against Nottingham although they will be two tough games. But we need to start winning at home, we have dropped too many points already."
