The Slough Jets are delighted to confirm the return of Slava Koulikov for his second season at The Hanger. The 31-year-old British forward has agreed to return having joined the Jets from the Elite League’s Hull Stingrays during last season.

Russian born Koulikov played a major part in Slough’s second place finish and playoff championship win during 2009/10 and Jets head coach Pete Russell was today delighted to announce the deal: “When Slava became available last season from Hull I jumped at the chance of bringing him here and he hasn’t let me down” said Russell.

“He turned out to be a very important part of our team and certainly came up with the goods. I decided to move him to centre after he arrived and that paid dividends, he works hard at both ends of the ice and with his vision and skill I believe he is one of the top British players in the EPL. Slava is a super skilled player and in my view his game is made to play centre, I think he likes his role and new responsibility with the Jets so I am delighted he has agreed to come back.”

Despite an impressive season for Peter Jasik which saw him post over fifty points for Slough, Pete Russell has also confirmed that the Slovakian would not be offered a new contract.

“Firstly I’d like to thank Peter for his commitment and efforts last season” said the Scot. “While I am disappointed to have to let Peter go, I have taken the decision to go in a different direction and one I believe with better and benefit the Slough Jets as a whole. I am excited about our recruitment plans going forward and we hope to announce one or two new faces very soon”.
