Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to announce the re-signing of top Latvian forward Maris Ziedins. The popular forward will return to a strong Phantoms line up and ‘Z’ is already looking forward to another season as part of the Phantoms family.
Coach Curtis Cruickshank was understandably pleased with the capture, “although I haven't personally had the pleasure of seeing Z play, everyone I have spoken to says he is a joy to watch. Z will be relied on for his skill and offense but will also provide us with a well rounded game that allows me to play him in any situation. I hope that our style of play will allow Z to create opportunities and use his potential to the fullest. I have heard nothing but good things about his character and he is extremely well respected throughout this league but especially in our locker room, where it matters most. This is another star player that we have added to our lineup and I couldn't be more pleased. As I said before, players like Z staying with Peterborough speaks volumes about the organisation and the fans that support it. I am proud to be part of that and hopefully can bring the club success”.
Maris will again be looking to play a leading role in the Phantoms 2010-2011 forward line and is determined to play his part in a successful campaign.
The club expects to be in a position to announce further roster additions in the coming weeks.
