Longmuir very happy with fixtures

With the draft Elite League fixtures in front of him, Newcastle Vipers General Manager declared himself very happy with the dates the club have been allocated for the 2010/11 season.

The Vipers first home league game is likely to be on Saturday 19th September with the visit of the Sheffield Steelers to Whitley Bay Ice Rink, while Danny Stewart’s outfit will be the first team to visit the newly formed Braehead Clan on Friday 1st October.

Following the official release of the Elite League fixtures on the 1st July, the Vipers will also be confirming seven special events which will be held during the season. Following the success of Drive for 5 and Bash at the Bay last season the club have penciled in a number of promotions for throughout the six month season.

“I am very happy with the fixtures and the dates we have” confirmed Longmuir. “Whitley Bay Ice Rink and the Elite League have been very accommodating and I’d like to thank them for that. We’ve got some exciting early season encounters lined up that I think will certainly catch our supporters attention.”

The Vipers are holding open days for fans at Whitley Bay Ice Rink this Saturday (11.00am to 4.00pm) and Sunday (10.00am to 1.00pm). It’s an opportunity for supporters to come down to the rink to pick their season ticket seat for the 2010/11 season with season tickets available to buy or re-new for those that haven’t already done so. There will also be a unique opportunity for those attending the open day to preview the draft fixture list.

Longmuir also went onto confirm that season ticket sales were still progressing with 250 now surpassed in the 400 Club. “We’ve have been very happy with the amount of season tickets we have sold so far” said Longmuir. “The supporters have really got behind us with Danny [Stewart[ coming on board and the recent new signing announcements. We’ve got more announcements lined up before the start of the season so we’re very much looking forward to the start of the season. We believe the season ticket packages are great value for money and when you take into account that you get 27 games for the price of 24 games it certainly works out better for our loyal supporters.”

The Vipers extended early bird season ticket offer expires on Friday 2nd July. Season tickets are still available now from as little as £99.00 available by calling the Vipers new office number on 0191 477 4100 or by e-mailing office@vipershockey.co.uk or jaimie.longmuir@vipershockey.co.uk.
