Dundee CCS Stars are delighted to announce the signing of American Mark Nebus from Toledo Walleye. Mark is a 28 years old from South Lyon, Michigan and is a skilful, no nonsense power forward and was one of America's brightest young prospects.
At the age of 16 years he was closely watched by many of the top clubs in the NHL but a serious car accident left him in a coma and put his hockey career on hold. Mark made a remarkable recovery and returned to the ice to continue playing ice hockey at a high level. In season 2007/2008 Nebus played alongside Stars' new signing Brent Hughes in the IHL with Port Huron Ice Hawks and has also been a team-mate of former Stars' fans' favourite, Scott Barnes when they played together at Muskegon Fury in the UHL in America.
Coach Dan Ceman is delighted with his new acquisition and commented, "I am excited to sign a player like Mark. He is a true power forward who competes hard game in and game out. He also is outstanding on the forecheck and is very willing to do any dirty work that may be called for. Mark had an outstanding year offensively two years ago but was in a position where he didn't get much of an opportunity to excel last year. He is really fired up to come to Dundee and be an all-round threat again. I think we've definitely found another piece to the puzzle that will fit in perfectly in our line up."
Nebus said of his move to Stars, "I am excited that my first professional hockey move outside of North America is in Dundee. I have heard so many good things about the city and the club that I can't wait to get started. I understand that the Dundee fans are among the noisiest in the country and I certainly hope to give them something to shout about."
