Matsos anger at Christiansen jibe
David Matsos has hit back at the Edinburgh Capitals head coach Doug Christiansen after his attack in the media against forward Matt Hubbauer.
"I think Edinburgh have been watching the wrong game" said David Matsos.
"I'm surprised that Doug saw it that way. We were an 8th place team playing desperate hockey, we didn't go after the Capitals players in the way he said. Did we play physical, sure we did and whoever we would have been playing on that night would have been played against in the same way.
"The suggestion that we went after Hutchy (Jeff Hutchins) is a crazy one, anyone at the game would have seen it was the Cap's that went after Hubbauer, he finally snapped after being head butted and reacted with the slash that got him the game misconduct penalty.
"In any other league in any other Country there would have been a major suspension for that. The Capitals video didn't work, well it rarely works as we almost never get a video of the game up there. It's a good job for them that it wasn't working on Sunday.
"If it had been then the league would have been handing out suspensions, but not to us but to Doug's own team, it's a shame that Doug has felt it necessary to come after us, especially after it was his own guy that started the whole thing".
