Mr Caps back for ninth season
Martin Cingel has agreed to return to the Edinburgh Capitals for the 10/11 season in the Elite Ice Hockey League. This will make Cingel's ninth season with the Capitals since he first came to the UK.
Cingel commented, "I love Edinburgh and the fans and am delighted to be able to come back for a ninth season. We've been through many challenges over the past eight seasons but we have always risen to them. This coming season will be no exception with many changes happening but I am glad to be returning and playing along with Jeff Hutchins and Kyle Horne once again. I have no doubt that once again we will be a formidable force and will give the fans something to be proud of."
Last season Cingel had 20 points from 9 goals and 11 assists over 30 games and had 38 penalty minutes. His Capitals career totals are 457 point from 207 goals and 250 assists.
A Capitals spokesman said, "Martin's loyalty over the years has been unsurpassable. It is hard to imagine a Capitals team without his name being on the roster so obviously we are delighted to have him back for his ninth season. Player retention has always been a challenge for us but Martin came to the UK to play for the Capitals and has remained with us ever since and he has stood by us through thick and thin. We are still working hard towards finding a player/coach but bringing in a trusted player like Martin will help with our plans."
