New look Northern League

The English Ice Hockey Association and Scottish Ice Hockey Limited are pleased to announce the expansion of the Northern League to include the Solway Sharks, Fife Flyers, Whitley Warriors, Northern Stars, Blackburn Hawks, Bradford Bulldogs and Sheffield Spartans.

 

The league will start on Saturday 4th September 2010 and will finish by 13th March 2011 with a top four playoff weekend scheduled for the 19th / 20th March 2011.

 

The revamped Northern League will be launched with a tournament at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on the weekend of 28th / 29th August 2010.

 

The league will allow two non British trained players.

Thats excellent news for the sport, hopefully it will bring greater interest and attendances to the clubs involved

i agree bigt , it ain't great but at least we still got hockey if fife , which is a must , and yeah we probarly will beat most if not all of them , but sloway won the leauge last season so still not gonna be easy , plus it also depends on who is playing for fife that will determine how well we do . mon the flyers still think we should be looking at playing epl or why can't there be a new british leauge setup.
