Osman hails "great attitude"
Dominic Osman saluted the fighting qualities of Excel Hull Stingrays after they secured a four-point weekend in the Rapid Solicitors Elite League.
The American forward scored twice as Stingrays came from behind three times to beat Dundee Stars 4-3 in Scotland on Saturday night.
Osman then netted the winning penalty shot as Stingrays claimed back-to-back wins with a 3-2 triumph at Hull Arena 24 hours later, having trailed 2-1 with five minutes left.
The victory moved Stingrays 10 points clear of ninth-placed Dundee in the race for a play-off place.
Osman said: “We wanted four points this weekend and we got it. It was a great battle between both teams.
“We wanted to win, we knew we were going to win and we stayed positive every time we were down this weekend. We stuck together as a team.
“We had a lot of momentum carried over from the win in Dundee and went out and scored a quick goal. But even when we went down we knew we were going to win, we just had to keep plugging away.
“We came in at the second break down 2-1 but everyone in the room just knew we were not going to lose. We had a great attitude and the fans’ support was unbelievable. They were loud, they were excited and they believed it too.
“I believe the hockey gods were with me on that last shot because he did hit [Chris] Whitley. He is a good goalie but it just got through.”
