Phantoms confirm Newman return
Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to announce the return of influential D-man Dwayne Newman. Newman is one the most experienced defencemen in the British game and is a player that is highly respected throughout the country by both fans and fellow players. Dwayne will once again be dominating the Phantoms defensive zone with his unquestionable commitment.
Coach Cruickshank commented, “Leader, team player, commitment, big heart - these are the things I hear every time when I ask people about Dwayne. These are exactly the attributes that I search for in every player and I feel priviliged to have Dwayne joining us for another season. He is the leader and experienced influence that coaches really need and, although it has only been a short time, I feel Dwayne and I have formed a very strong relationship that can only benefit all in moving the club forward. I look forward to working with such a great person”.
A club spokesman commented, “Dwayne is simply one of the most dependable players in the league. A no-frills player whose contribution and importance can sometimes go unnoticed to the untrained eye but somebody who all players around the league would always choose to have in the their line-up rather than coming up against them and we are really pleased Dwyane will be back to lead the team by example”.
Newman becomes the first non-British trained player to join the roster for 2010/2011 and the club will be announcing more signings over the coming days.
