The hockey season is back, and you can follow it all with us right here on BIH.
We are working on an archive of matches, stats and players from BIH in the past few years.

Nearly 3 and a half months into the season the Flames finally met up with the top of the table when they travelled to Manchester for their first ever meeting with the Phoenix, but the visit was not one to remember for Spectrum’s team who fell into a 3-1 deficit at the end of the first before going on to a 5-1 defeat. The home side opened the scoring with a Jaakko Hagelberg goal in the 7th minute. The Flames tied it up at 11:37 with a Martin Masa reply, but a few minutes later former Flame Adam Walker put his side ahead 2-1 before Tony Hand extended the lead to a pair at 17:27. Ryan Johnson widened the gap to 4-1 just over 3 minutes into the second period. Another Hand goal before the game’s midway point put up a 5-1 lead that remained on the clock for the last half of the game, securing the Manchester win.
Paul Dixon, Flames Head Coach, reflected on the game:
“It was another of our games where in the first 10 minutes we were all over them and yet they had a 1-0 lead at that early stage. Those situations seem to impact our confidence far more than they should. We managed to even the score in short order and when they went back ahead, even when we went down a couple, we created some great opportunities to get back in it. Our inability to capitalise at that point left the door open for them to only need a break or two to really put it out of reach far too early in the game which is exactly what they did. They have a great team. They are top of the table for a reason, but on paper we have a side to match them shift for shift. We all have to look at ourselves in order to find the consistency that is going to represent the ability of this roster on a far more consistent basis which is the only way we will be able to start to gain ground as we approach the second half of the season.”
